Coffee After the Service
From Plumbers to Politics
Lifelong friendships have been formed through coffee and fellowship after worship. People are invited to share about their week, discuss gardening, politics or current events, and even get recommendations on a good plumber. As a Christian community we believe life is better when we do it together.
Groups & Committees
Everyone has a gift to share
“Therefore encourage one another and build up each other, as indeed you are doing.” -1 Thessalonians 5:11
As a small congregation we know the power of being part of an intimate community and believe everyone has a gift to share. You are welcome to express your passion and connect with a small group of like-minded folk through volunteering on a team or committee. The following teams and committees are currently open:
*Must be a member of St. John’s
From late September through mid-May, adult forums are held on a variety of topics. For fall 2022 - spring 2023 adult forums are held in-person on the second Sunday of the month after worship, and at 7:00pm on Zoom the fourth Wednesday of the month. Some feature outside speakers or presenters and others are led by St. John’s members or pastors.
Women’s Group and Bible Study
The first Tuesday of the month a group of women meet for fellowship and study, usually in the home of one of the members. In the summer, the women of the church hold a retreat focused on a theme from the WELCA Bible studies.
Men’s Non-Book Book Club
On occasion, the men from St. John’s gather in a local bar or pub to discuss life, family, friends, and all the books that aren’t going to be read. Interested in fellowship and connecting with other men, contact Dick Gundlach for more info.
